DLF/ HDIL


DLF India:

The DLF Group was founded by Chaudhury Raghuvendra Singh in 1946. DLF developed some of the first residential colonies in Delhi such as Krishna Nagar, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Kailash Colony and Hauz Khas. In 1957, with the passage of Delhi Development Act, the government assumed the control of real estate development activities in Delhi and the role of private real estate developers was restricted.

Major Achievements of DLF
  • DLF is the only company in India in the Consumer validated category from the real estate sector to have been awarded 'Superbrand' ranking.
  • Received the 'Corporate Buildings Award' in March 2005 instituted by the leading construction design magazine 'Indian Architect and Builders'.
  • Awarded by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) for 'Excellence in Horticulture Preservation'.

Chairman’s Profile
Born on August 15, 1931, at Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Kushal Pal Singh (popularly known as K.P.Singh), graduated in Science from Meerut College. Thereafter, Mr. K. P. Singh proceeded to UK to pursue higher studies in Aeronautical Engineering. While being in UK, he was selected for the prestigious Indian Army, by British Officers Services Selection Board, UK. Upon completion of his training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he was commissioned into 'The Deccan Horse' - a renowned cavalry regiment of The Indian Army. Mr. Singh is married and has got two daughters, a son and five grand children.In order to pursue a business career, Mr. Singh resigned from the Indian Army in the year 1960 and joined American Universal Electric Company, a joint venture between Universal Electric Company of Owosso, Michigan, USA and the Singh family for manufacturing of precision electric motors in India. He joined DLF Universal Limited, (currently known as DLF Limited) as its Managing Director in 1979, and subsequently became its Chairman in the year 1995.As Managing Director and later as Chairman DLF Ltd Mr. Singh brought a paradigm shift in the real estate business of the country and pioneered initiatives, which are today, recognised as benchmarks in the real estate arena, such as the sprawling DLF City in Gurgaon - the 3,000 acre master piece in township development in the NCR region.

Over the years, DLF group has emerged as the undisputed leader in the country’s real estate business, with over 700 million square feet of developmental potential, and is now positioned as India’s largest real estate company in terms of revenues, earnings, market capitalization and developable area. With its unique business model of development earnings and rental earnings, DLF’s exposure runs across businesses, segments and geographies.Today, DLF has spread its presence to 32 cities across 18 states of the country. DLF has presently around 60 million square feet of area under construction across residential, commercial and retail segments, making it amongst the largest developers of the world. Award and recognitions

  • An internationally renowned magazine, Forbes, known for ranking world's billionaires, in its issue of March 24, 2008, has ranked Mr. K.P.Singh as the richest real estate baron and the eighth richest person in the world, at a net worth of US$30 billion.
  • Awarded with "The Samman Patra Award" for being one of the top tax payers of Delhi region in fiscal 2000 by the Government of India.
  • Recipient of the Delhi Ratna Award by the Government of Delhi for his valuable contribution towards the development of Delhi.
  • In recognition of Mr. Singh’s contribution towards the growth of Indian economy, NDTV, a well known media house, has conferred Mr. Singh with a Special Award at the Indian of the Year Award function held on January 17, 2008 in New Delhi.

An avid sports aficionado Mr. Singh likes playing outdoor games like Golf, Polo and Tennis .He also cherishes reading management books and listening to music.

This is a unique example o built-to-suit workspace, which is in synergy with Nestlé's requirements. It has been designed aesthetically coupled with functional efficiency. Located on National Highway-8 the complex covers an area of one million sq.ft.

DLF Gateway Tower



DLF Gateway Tower as is appropriately coined since acts as the gateway to the 3000-acre integrated city of DLF. This 12-storey complex is spread across an area of 1.15 acres. With its ship-like shape, Gateway Tower presents futuristic architecture, which is also reflected in its interiors with floor plates measuring up to 85,000 square feet.


HDIL (Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd.)

HDIL is a part of Wadhawan Group (formerly known as the Dheeraj Group). Since 1996, HDIL has been satisfying the diverse needs of scores of home seekers in Mumbai Metropolitan region. Today, HDIL has several projects underway in the Western and Eastern suburbs of Mumbai, catering to the customer with varied needs and tastes. HDIL's business focuses on Real Estate Development, including construction and development of residential projects and, more recently, commercial and retail projects, Slum Rehabilitation and Development, including clearing slum land and rehousing slum dwellers, and Land Development, including development of infrastructure on land which the company then sells to other property developers.

The company has also bagged the prestigious Mumbai Airport Slum Rehabilitation Project to rehabilitate the slum dwellers located on 276 acres (1.12 km²) of Mumbai Airport land. HDIL's turnover from sales of projects, developed land and land development rights for the financial years ended March 31, 2008, 2007, 2006 were Rs. 23803.7 million, Rs. 12040 million, Rs. 4,348.6 million, respectively, and the restated profit after tax for financial years ended March 31, 2008, 2007 and 2006 were Rs. 14098.4 million, Rs. 5430 million and Rs. 1,172.9 million respectively.
HDIL launched an IPO in July 2007 and is currently listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
